Henry Jordan
Retired Senior Divisional Vice President – Walmart Stores/ Author/ Motivational Speaker/ Real Estate Agent
Henry began his career with Walmart as a part-time associate in 1985. Until recently, he served as the Senior Divisional Vice President over the Eastern Seaboard Division, opening the first stores in Washington, D.C. Mr. Jordan rose through the ranks, serving as a Department Manager, Assistant Manager, Store Manager and District Manager before being named Director of Walmart Neighborhood Markets. In this capacity, he played an integral role launching a new grocery store format for Wal-Mart. After Neighborhood Markets, he assumed the role of Regional Vice President for Walmart Stores in North and South Carolina, and in March of 2005 for the state of California.
In 2007, Henry worked closely with Governor Schwarzenegger and local officials in assisting individuals affected by the devastating California wildfires, continuing Walmart’s long-history of community support during times of need.
He has had the privilege of serving on the board of directors for Big Brother Big Sister of Northwest Arkansas, Northern California Special Olympics, and the Sacramento & Central Carolina chapters of the Urban League. He is currently serving as an ambassador for American Public University. Henry received the Sam M. Walton Hero Award in August 2001 for his involvement in Wal-Mart’s Literacy Awareness program.
He has had the privilege of speaking with many groups, corporate gatherings, and at universities and colleges.
He, and his wife of almost 40 years, Caroline, share a dedication to their faith, a love of the great outdoors and an adventurous spirit of travel.
He received his Masters degree in Management in February of 2015, and released his book “Leading Through Relationship First” which is available in the store.
